# Linking social accounts

> Connect or disconnect Google, GitHub and LinkedIn so you can sign in to Hiresweep with them.

A linked account lets you sign in to Hiresweep with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn instead of your password.

## Connect a provider

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Sign-in & security">
    Select **Settings** in the dashboard sidebar, then **Sign-in & security** under **Account**.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Find the provider">
    The **Linked accounts** card lists **Google**, **GitHub** and **LinkedIn**. A provider you already linked shows a **Connected** badge.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Connect">
    Select **Connect** next to the provider and approve access on its page. You come back to **Sign-in & security**, and the row shows **Connected**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The provider account must use the same email address as your Hiresweep account. A provider account with a different address is refused.

<Tip>
  You don't always have to link by hand. If you sign in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn using the same email address
  as your Hiresweep account, the provider is linked automatically.
</Tip>

## Disconnect a provider

Select **Disconnect** next to a connected provider. You can no longer sign in with it.

Hiresweep won't disconnect your only sign-in method. If you signed up with Google and never set a password, set one first: select **Set password** in the **Password** row and follow the emailed link. Then you can disconnect Google.
