# Using private notes

> Keep notes on each resume, such as where you sent it and what you changed, that never print on the resume or show on its public page.

Every resume has a **Notes** field for your own use. Write down where you sent this version, what makes it different, or anything else you want to remember. Notes never print on the resume.

## Where to find them

In the builder, select the **Design** tab of the Edit panel and scroll to **Notes**, after **Page**.

## Ideas for what to write

- **Where it went**: companies, roles and the date you applied with this version.
- **Job posting links**, plus a copy of the key requirements in case the posting comes down.
- **What's different** about this version and which roles it suits.
- **Interview prep**: questions to ask, stories to tell, salary notes.
- **Follow-ups**: when you last heard back and what's next.

<Tip>
  To track applications with statuses and dates, use **Applications** in the dashboard sidebar. See [Tracking job
  applications](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/tracking-job-applications). Notes suit details that belong to one resume version.
