# Using the canvas dock

> Zoom the resume preview, fit it to the screen, lay pages side by side and step between pages with the dock under the canvas.

The dock is the small toolbar at the bottom of the canvas, under your resume preview. It controls how you view the preview. It doesn't change the resume or any exported file.

## Controls

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Zoom out** | Makes the preview smaller. |
| Zoom readout, for example **85%** | Shows the current zoom. Select it to go back to 100%. |
| **Zoom in** | Makes the preview larger. |
| **Fit to view** | Sizes the preview to fit the canvas. |
| **Stack pages vertically** / **Show pages side by side** | Switches between pages under each other and pages next to each other. |
| **Previous page** / **Next page** | Moves the view to the previous or next page. Between them, **Page 2 of 3** shows where you are. |

With a one-page layout, the dock shows **1 page** instead of the page buttons.

<Note>
  The page buttons step through the pages of your layout (**Design** > **Layout**). To see how many pages the PDF will
  have, read the label above each page in the preview, for example **Page 1 of 2**.
</Note>

Your browser's own zoom shortcuts still zoom the whole app, not only the preview.

## Where the other canvas actions are

The dock only holds view controls. The rest sits in the header above the canvas:

| You want to | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Download a PDF, DOCX or JSON file | **Export** in the header. See [Exporting your resume](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/exporting-your-resume). |
| Make the resume public or copy its link | **Share** in the header. See [Sharing your resume publicly](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/sharing-your-resume-publicly). |
| Rename, duplicate, lock or delete | The **Resume actions** (**…**) menu in the header. |
| Ask the AI for changes | The **Agent** card on the right. Press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>.</kbd> or <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> <kbd>.</kbd> to show or hide it. See [Using AI in the builder](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/using-ai-in-the-builder). |

Press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>\\</kbd> or <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> <kbd>\\</kbd> to show or hide the Edit panel and give the canvas more room.
