# Privacy-focused resume builder

> How Hiresweep keeps your resumes private by default, lets you control public links, sending and AI, and deletes everything when you leave.

Hiresweep keeps your resumes private unless you share them, sends applications only the way you choose, and deletes everything when you delete your account. This page brings those controls together. The [Privacy policy](https://docs.hiresweep.com/legal/privacy-policy) has the full details of what is stored and who it is shared with.

## Resumes are private until you share them

Every resume starts private. Only you can open it.

When you turn on a resume's public link, anyone with the link can view it. You stay in control:

- **Search engines are told not to index public resume pages.** A public link is for the people you send it to, not for search results.
- **Add a password** so only people who know it can open the page.
- **Turn the link off** at any time.
- **Private notes stay private.** Notes you keep on a resume never appear on the public page, in PDFs or in Word files.

Public pages count views and downloads without recording who viewed them. See [Sharing your resume publicly](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/sharing-your-resume-publicly) and [Using private notes](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/using-private-notes).

<Warning>
  A public link without a password is open to anyone who has it, and people can forward it. Add a password, or keep
  the resume private, if only specific people should see it.
</Warning>

## You decide how applications are sent

When Hiresweep fills an application form, your Apply profile's submit mode decides what happens next:

| Mode          | What happens                                                                                       |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Review** | Every filled form waits for you to check it and submit it. This is the default. |
| **Hybrid** | Sends on its own only when the job's match score reaches your minimum and the form asked you nothing. Everything else waits for you. |
| **Automatic** | Sends every form it fills. |

Your resume and answers go only to the employer you apply to. Once an application is sent, Hiresweep can't recall it from the employer's systems. Optional questions about demographics, disability or veteran status are sent only if you answer them. See [Setting up your apply profile](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/setting-up-your-apply-profile) and [Applying to jobs](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/applying-to-jobs).

## AI runs when you ask for it

You can create, edit, export and share resumes without AI. Hiresweep AI works on your content when you use an AI feature, such as the agent, a rewrite, a resume check, an import or tailoring a resume to a job. The content that request needs is sent to the AI provider that processes it.

Repeat job searches that you set up run on their own schedule, daily or weekly, with the Targets and filters you chose. You can pause or stop them on **Discover**. See [Repeating job searches](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/repeating-job-searches) and [Using AI](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/using-ai).

## Protect your account

- Sign in with a [passkey](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/setting-up-passkeys) instead of a password.
- Turn on [two-factor authentication](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/setting-up-two-factor-authentication) for password sign-in.
- Review the AI assistants you connected under **Settings** → **Connected assistants**, and disconnect any you no longer use. See [Managing connected assistants](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/managing-connected-assistants).
- Treat API keys like passwords. A key has full access to your account until it expires. See [Using the API](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/using-the-api).

## Delete your data

Deleting your account removes your resumes, applications, settings and uploaded files, cancels your plan and removes your customer record at the payment processor. Download any resume you want to keep first. See [Deleting your account](https://docs.hiresweep.com/guides/deleting-your-account).
