- In the full-page Agent workspace, it changes a working copy of your resume straight away, and you can restore it.
- In the builder’s Agent card, it can only suggest edits. Your resume changes only when you accept them.
Tools in the Agent workspace
Tools in the builder
In the builder, the agent is told not to invent facts. Suggestions that add employers, titles, schools, skills, numbers or dates your resume and messages don’t already state are refused. It also leaves the design alone: templates, colors, fonts and layout stay in the Design panel.
Web search
When the model Hiresweep AI is using supports it, the agent can also use aweb_search tool to look up a company, a role or a public page you link to. It isn’t always available. When it isn’t, the agent tells you it can’t browse and asks you to paste or attach the content instead. Pasting the job description or attaching it as a file always works.
How changes are applied in the Agent workspace
Edits are JSON Patch operations rooted at the resume data. For example, the name at the top of the resume is at/basics/name. The agent groups related edits into one change.
When the agent applies a change:
- the working copy updates and the resume column refreshes;
- the chat shows a card labelled Applied changes, with how many edits it made;
- Details on the card shows the exact operations;
- a snapshot is kept so you can select Restore to put the resume back to how it was before that change.
Good prompts for tool use
Tell the agent what to use and how careful to be:- “Read the attached job description and ask me before changing anything outside the summary.”
- “Identify the most important keywords in the job post below and make only conservative changes.”
- “Change the name on my resume, then show me what changed.”
When tools aren’t available
- An archived chat can’t receive new messages.
- A chat whose working resume was deleted is read-only.
- Web search is available only when the model supports it.
